STJEPAN,
We have known for years that the media has a general liberal bias, but the Hillary Clinton campaign emails leaked during the presidential campaign revealed a truly shocking level of media corruption. We need your help to fight back and defeat the liberal media monopoly.
These are just a few examples of the shocking level of corruption discovered in the American media. These are the same media outlets that told you Trump had no path to reach 270 electoral votes; that the “market would tank” if Trump was elected; and that the economy was “great” during the Obama administration. Tucker Carlson and I founded The Daily Caller News Foundation to expose the corrupt media and to help replace it with a new brand of honest news reporting. We publish more than 1,500 original stories per month, sending each piece in real-time to our news network of 230 national and local media outlets that we allow to publish our reporting free of charge. This broadens our reach to over 317 million monthly readers at outlets such as Yahoo! News, Business Insider, The Daily Caller, Cox Media Group, iHeart Media, Fox News, MSN, and Gannett to name a few. It’s not easy to cut through the liberal media monopoly. We need your help. Now is the time for all of us to rise up, unite and replace America’s corrupt media. No contribution amount is too small; small donations from many supporters add up. Thank you for your time and consideration in assisting us with our mission to fix the broken American media. hope you will consider making a tax-deductible contribution to support our work and our growth.

Thank you,
IRS

It's cold AF, fam!
No, really. It's snowing outside, and while the snowfall itself is slowly grinding down to a halt, these temps are just gonna dip down a bit further.
Don't worry though. We've got you covered with how it affects your commute tonight.
But it's also NATIONAL PIZZA DAY! So we wrote an open letter to the Dollar Slice.
Also, we're giving away $500 in CourseHorse credit so you can level-up your love life (or just yourself) with dope classes that'll give you the skills that kill. But that ends tonight at midnight! So enter right meow!
We've got mad love for this throwback steakhouse straight outta Mad Men. We found a mattress that might just save the world.
The Annual Ice Festival's coming back to Central Park this weekend and we got all that you need to know.
Pop-Tarts are kind of gross (right? Pretty sure we came to a general consensus on that), but they're taking over the Kellogg's Cereal Bar in Times Square (location, location, location...).
Oh, there are 5 drag shows you won't want to miss this month in NYC.
Aaaaannndddd we're sending you and a friend to New Orleans—just in time for Jazz Festival—and some last minute Valentine's Day gift ideas because if there's anything more romantic than procrastination, we haven't found it.
Heads up!
Here’s Every MTA Delay You Should Probably Check out Before Commuting Home Tonight
Ah, the joys of commuting. The snowy weather that’s upon us really brings out all that we love about relying on public transit.

But have no fear! spoiled is here for ya, hitting you with every single MTA delay that could possibly affect your ride home tonight.

Heads up: just about every bus is delayed, so ya might want to just stick to the trains today.

Stay safe, kids! READ MORE…

This Old School NYC Steakhouse Is Serving Up an Absolutely Incredible Valentine's Day Dinner
Back in the day—those days of Mad Men and drinking at lunch—the steakhouse was the ultimate manly man, man's man boy's club. Don't you just miss those days?

You know, the ones with segregation, virtually zero women's rights, and, like, a bunch of other awful sh*t that we're still kind of working through today? You're right. Those days were bullsh*t, and yes, change is good.

Well, we've found the classiest steakhouse in NYC—one that's as modern as our sensibilities and values, but still has the look and feel of a timeless throwback (minus those hateful vibes)—just in time for Valentine’s day.

Venturing away from the classic dark walls, dim lighting, “boy’s club” feel that most steakhouses embrace, Lincoln Square Steak flaunts light-wooden floors and red walls, complete with some of the best food you can find in the city.

They even have a large selection of seafood available for those of you who can only see baby cow faces when you stare into a piece of steak.

So, eat up! And don’t forget to make your reservations ASAP if you’re tryna score a table for February 14th. They've got an absurd 3-course meal in the works. Check it out. READ MORE…

Nap Time!
A Bed in a Box That Can Change the World?
“Oh, I’ve heard that whole ‘Bed-in-a-Box’ spiel before.” Well, you just sound cranky. How ya sleepin’?

And have you gotten a mattress delivered to your door–in a box—that doesn’t cost as much as your rent? Probz not.

And even if you did, were you able to ship that baby back if it wasn’t up to snuff even after 100 nights? Good luck. Leesa does just that. And what about that whole “change the world” thing?

STAY WOKE… after a good night’s sleep. With the Leesa One-ten program, they donate one mattress to a homeless shelter for every ten they sell. They’re like the TOMS or Warby Parker of the mattress industry.

They also plant one tree for every mattress sold, pledging to plant 1 million trees by 2025. You can get Leesa shipped right to your door for just $525, and, if for whatever reason it’s not all you’d dreamed of, you can ship it back after that 100-night trial.

Oh, and if you use the promo code “SPOILED75” you can take $75 off. You're welcome, PLANET EARTH. READ MORE…

New Year’s resolutions are often a bit of a joke. Chances are, you’ve already forgotten yours.
Not true for the conservative billionaire class.
The Koch network resolved to spend $400 million to spread junk science about climate change, undermine living wage bills and destroy Obamacare.
And they are doing just that.
The Heritage Foundation promised to spend over $100 million to demonize immigrants and push legislation that ends the promise of Social Security.
And they are doing just that.
The Family Research Council resolved to spend$15 million dollars to block hate crimes legislation, defund women’s health care and attempt to add forced “conversion therapy” to the GOP platform.
And they are doing just that.
In 2017, we hope you made it to the gym and are already watching less TV. We hope you’re spending more time with your family and have planned that vacation. But consider adding one more resolution to your list: Fight Back.
People’s Action is a nationwide network of community organizers. We have something that can’t be bought - a grassroots movement. We turn outrage into action. But we do have expenses.

Our economy is about more than numbers. It’s about people. We’re fighting for new rules for our economy to ensure we’re cared for when we provide care for each other.
We need a financial system that works for people and communities, not just lenders. That’s why we’re fighting for strong rules to rein in the payday lending industry.

Are you ready to join the fight? Get in touch and find out how you can help.
The Progressive Breakfast is the most widely read morning tip-sheet with insider news and information.
Projects like the Populist Majority website show lawmakers and the media that populist messages win.
Who We Are

People’s Action is a powerful new force for democracy and economic fairness. From family farms to big cities, from coast to coast, we’re fighting for community over greed, justice over racism, and people and planet over big corporations.

The Brief: Ghost, NSFW, Binge-Watch and Side Eye Are Now Officially in the Dictionary

Rejects
When it comes to job rejection, men and women process it differently and it could be a big reason why there are fewer women in leadership positions. A study looked at more than 10,000 senior executives at U.K. companies. It found that fewer women than men were applying for top management positions even though they start their careers with the same amount of ambition  It also saw that women who had been rejected from similar jobs before were even less likely to apply. Now men were also less likely to apply for jobs similar to ones they'd also been rejected from, but women seemed to be even more scared as the likelihood of them applying decreased 1.5 times more than men's. Women also seem to be very skeptical during the job application process. Raina Brands, who wrote about the study for The Harvard Business Review, thinks , "Companies must take a hard look at their recruiting and promotion processes to assess whether they are indeed fair — and, just as important, whether those processes are perceived to be fair, especially by women and other minorities."
It's Totes Vernacular
Well the people at Merriam Webster have been busy as they just added 1000 new words to their famous dictionary. As you can imagine, many of them are new words that have somehow become part of the vernacular and now you wonder what you ever did without them before? Like "ghost"? I mean "That guy disappeared" just does not sum up the same feeling. "Geek out," "humble brag," "NSFW", "Binge-watch," "truther," "Seussian," all made it in as well the terms, "first world problem," "side eye," "weak sauce," "food insecure," and "safe space."
C is for Cookie
Looking for a new job and do you also love cookies? No, the puppeteer for Cookie Monster is already taken (and I'm pretty sure none of the cookies actually get in his mouth...Cookie Monster may have an eating disorder) and no this is not an opportunity to lead a Girl Scout troop. It's even better! Mondelēz International is hiring a chocolate and cocoa beverage taster. In case you didn't know Mondelez produces Oreos, Chips Ahoy and Cadbury. The job requirement is primarily to “be able to taste chocolate and cocoa beverage products and give objective and honest feedback.” So basically the requirements are to be a human being who likes to eat things. Plus the hours are from 12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m Tuesdays through Thursdays. You can literally have your cake (OK a cookie) and eat it too!

BREAKING NEWS ALERT
February 9, 2017
A federal appeals court in San Francisco said Thursday it will release its ruling by the end of the business day in the legal fight over whether to reinstate President Donald Trump's ban on travelers from seven predominantly Muslim nations.
A panel of three judges from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is deciding whether to block a lower-court ruling that suspended the ban and allowed previously barred travelers to enter the U.S. An appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court is possible.
