Here’s the truth: the Supreme Court has the power to create enormous change in our society. It is the institution that affirmed a woman’s right to make her own health decisions and ruled that marriage cannot be denied to anyone because of the person they love. It is also the same branch of government that gutted the Voting Rights Act and opened the door for big corporations to pollute our political system with secret, unaccountable money. So you can imagine that I take the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court very seriously. Justice hangs in the balance on the court, and while he has an impressive paper record, Gorsuch’s rulings have repeatedly failed to achieve justice for all Americans. For this reason, I am opposing his nomination -- and I am asking supporters like you to join me in this fight. Can you take action today? Add your name to my petition right now urging the Senate to reject the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court: Neil Gorsuch has consistently favored corporations over the American people and should not be confirmed to the Supreme Court. I am signing this petition in opposition to his nomination and urging the Senate to reject him.
A perfect example of why we must oppose Gorsuch’s nomination is the story of Alphonse Maddin, a trucker who got stuck on the road in sub-zero temperatures and abandoned his cargo to seek help. He was fired because he left his truck and when he sued the company, only one judge sided with his employer — Judge Neil Gorsuch. Imagine being someone who believes corporations should have the right to fire an employee for trying to save their life?In the case of the college professor Grace Hwang, who was diagnosed with cancer, Gorsuch ruled that her employer had the right to refuse leave even though her doctor told her to rest. “His decision was heartless,” said Grace’s parents earlier this month. Alphonse, Grace, and countless others deserved better than this -- and that is why I’m opposing Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Sign my petition today if you agree. These two cases are not ones we cherry-picked to make a partisan point. Gorsuch’s record shows he is willing to favor corporations over the American people. From imposing religious views on employees to outright hostility toward federal agencies, he has a history of rulings that directly hurt working families, consumers, women, and more. In short: Gorsuch has valued narrow legalisms over real lives. The just thing for us to do is prevent his nomination to the Supreme Court. If you agree, please add your name to our petition today. Thanks for everything you do to help build a just and equal society. Fight on,
- Kamala

WILD BEES ARE GOING EXTINCT, AND YET THE PESTICIDE INDUSTRY IS LOBBYING HARD TO STOP CANADA BANNING ONE OF THE MOST WIDELY USED BEE.-KILLING PESTICICITED IN THE WORLD
Beekeepers have warned us for years about entire bee colonies dying off and disappearing. Now researchers are telling us more than 700 wild bee species in North America are headed toward extinction -- that's more than half of the bee species tested. Canada has announced plans to ban imidacloprid, one of the most widely used bee-killing pesticides in the world, but the pesticide industry is lobbying hard to stop the ban being introduced. With so many bee species headed to extinction we’re redoubling our efforts to convince Canada to ban this bee-killer without delay. If we raise enough money we’ll buy full page “Save the Bees” ads in the Ottawa Hill Times -- the paper that politicians read -- to make sure they know why banning bee-killing pesticide is essential. Will you chip in $1 today? If you've saved your payment information with SumOfUs, your donation will go through immediately:
To find 700 species of bees in decline is shocking. That's more than half the wild bee species for which we have enough data to test. It was only this year when the U.S. added the first-ever bee species to the endangered list. And this new data means there could be dozens or even hundreds more species that are unprotected. We know that when bees die, food crops go with them. Bees pollinate 71 of the world’s top 100 food crops. No bees means no avocados, no apples, no strawberries... We've already collected more than 115,000 comments from people calling on Canada to implement their bee-killing pesticide ban without delay. But the pesticide industry is among the most powerful lobbies in the country. That's why we need to turn up the heat. Will you chip in $1 to help save the bees and stop any unnecessary delay in Canada's pesticide ban?
