Not exactly thrilled for this holiday weekend?
It’s probably because you’re a New Yorker, and every New Yorker knows that a holiday centered around binge drinking ends up being absolute hell. The streets are packed with tourists, the subways will be even worse, and every creepy guy who’s only knows two basic pickup lines gets to yell "KISS ME, I'M IRISH." The cute ones are okay tho. Uh, BUT ANYWAY, ugh. Can you relate? READ MORE…
Let’s be honest, we have no idea what we did to deserve dogs.
And they definitely have something figured out that we don’t.... just look how damn happy they are all the time! And we’ve thanked them with dog parks, dog cafes, dog schools, dog hotels, dog airport terminals (shoutout to JFK, us humans didn’t want that new terminal anyway), and now we give you the dog museum. That’s right: a museum dedicated completely to the puppers. Just when you were about to drag yourself to some art museum to avoid feeling like an uncultured brat... now you can go to a museum all about man’s best friend. And the best part? It’s BYOD (Bring Your Own Dog). READ MORE…
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this weekend by doing what the Irish do best: drink.
Whether you’re on the lookout for the eclectic green beer, a Guinness, or a good ole’ fashioned shot of Jameson, we’ve got you covered with all the bars worth stopping at this holiday weekend. So put on your green garb, grab your friends and why not even tell everyone you’re Irish for the day? We won’t tell... and you might even get a kiss! READ MORE…
Sometimes going to the latest modern music shows gets old and you’re itching for a new experience.
We get you– and we have the perfect concert for you. Symphonic Storyboards by Philharmonia Orchestra of New York combines timeless classical pieces with cool light projections and winning short films from the world’s first orchestral film competition. Impress your friends (or bae) with this dope performance. READ MORE…
What’s the deal, Ray?
DealRay texts you straight cash, certified United States Dollars, to put toward travel arrangements. Or it might as well anyway, since for a small monthly subscription you get access to a network of deals, based on your own interests and availability, cultivated and curated and sent to you simply by text. We love to support our NYC-local businesses, so we’re way less than thrilled to report on this.
But alas, it has been announced that A.I. Friedman Art Supply Store in Chelsea is going out of business. The final date for the store is April 30th, so you still have a little over a month to get your supplies that aren’t mass produced like Michael’s or other corporate inventories. There are still a few other mom-and-pop stores left, like SoHo Art Materials and DaVinci Artist Supply, but get there quick. If this trend continues, they might not be there much longer.READ MORE…
First it was the sushi burrito; now poke, the Hawaiian dish featuring fresh seafood, is becoming the new trendy food taking over the city.
Can't keep up with the revolving door of food trends in this city? We gotchu. Fast casual poke here gives you your choice of various bases, crunchy toppings, fish and tasty sauces. Poke is not just an ordinary Chipotle-style food, it’s a way of life. Uh, until something else catches our attention, of course. READ MORE…
Ah yes, St. Patrick’s Day, one of the only holidays that make it socially acceptable to drink your face off.
In case you’d like to do that with a whole bunch of other people and not just alone in your room, join a bunch of cool peeps at a quiet clubbing dance party at an outdoor beer garden tonight. Drinking not your thing? Sample some balls (meatballs, you corrupted soul) at the The Takedowns food competition this Sunday. Take advantage of all of the awesome sh*t going on this weekend, homies! Respected friends,
Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch is without a doubt the most extreme nominee for the Court in decades … and his confirmation is far from a done deal. Gorsuch’s Senate confirmation hearings begin MONDAY and thousands of grassroots supporters and our allies on the Hill are digging in to fight during -- and after -- the hearings. It’s a fight we can win. This will be the most important week of our campaign to stop Gorsuch. The eyes of the nation will be on the hearings and Americans will be eager to learn about Trump’s nominee. We need to raise $85,000 before Monday to ensure we can do all that’s necessary to win this fight. We’re depending on our members and supporters to step up more than ever before. All donations before midnight on Sunday will be MATCHED $1-for-$1, so please give to this fight today. Renew your support with a secure online donation of $7 or more now>> PFAW is going all-in to ensure Judge Gorsuch’s hearings are as thorough and complete as possible, and we’re going on the air in target states late next week with a TV ad pushing back on right-wing attempts to shame Senators into confirming this extreme nominee. We’re also using all of our strategic communications and research expertise to staff a coalition war room that can respond in real time to Senators’ needs and amplify critical messaging. Gorsuch would be a disastrous rubber stamp on the far-right Trump/Republican agenda and his confirmation would devastate our chances to get big money out of politics, rein in corporate abuses, and so much more. His record as a judge has been one of hostility to the basic rights and needs of regular people and extreme deference to corporate interests and the rich and powerful. That’s why we’ve been working so hard to stop him.
With you're help:
Now, with the biggest week of this campaign yet just a couple of days away, we need to make sure we’re ready for battle. We need to raise $85,000 before Monday to give this fight our all and we’re depending on our members and supporters to get us there. All donations before midnight on Sunday will be MATCHED $1-for-$1, so please give to this fight today. Thanks in advance for stepping up yet again!
