Who was lucky enough to have a snow day today?

Literally what is Staten Island?Governors Island announced the eco-friendly winner of their City of Dreams Pavilion, and we're so psyched to visit... when the weather is warmer, of course. Praise the dessert gods, Wowfulls is opening a shop on the Lower East Side later this month– time to step up our 'Gram games. Many art dealers are vacating Chelsea for cheaper rents downtown, but those who can afford to stay are upgrading to these new futuristic galleries on the High Line. Do you like pie? Say no more!
Math jokes abound, and free pies for everyone! That is, uh, if you can make it to the West Village today, through the snow and ice slush. But wait, why not make your own? The circle’s circumference-to-diameter ratio didn’t spring up overnight, you know, so bake a little homage to its glorious mathematical perfection, and stuff some pie down while you hang out at home in those fuzzy pink slippers. Other hare-brained ideas for actually braving today’s cold wasteland include: the Math Museum and Waitress, the hit Broadway musical by Sara Bareilles. READ MORE…

Governor’s Isle, open sesame!
This year’s Figment Art Festival is coming in early June, only a month after the Isle reopens for spring on May 1st. This year’s festival staple attraction— the City of Dreams Pavilion— will be built from 300,000 recycled aluminum cans that have been melted down and molded into intricate patterns. Team Aesop is Kickstarting the project, and it’s supporting the community, too, by sourcing a full 100,000 of their cans from Brooklyn’s Sure We Can nonprofit. Check ‘em out! READ MORE…
Possibly the most adorable and hilarious snow day story yet: two ponies were spotted trotting through the streets of Staten Island after escaping from a stable nearby.
Off-duty cop and local resident Robert Stasio saw them outside his kitchen window while enjoying his breakfast. He actually managed to safely wrangle them himself (after being dragged through the snow for a bit). Cops were called to the scene and now the ponies are back home safe. And that’s a snow day story for the books. READ MORE…
So, you probably think all NYC restaurants and bars are closed for today. And you would almost be right, but not quite!
Believe it or not, there are some that are weathering the storm, and they are the real MVPs. Show them some love by giving them your business today... 'cause we know not all of you got to the grocery store last night. Safe travels! READ MORE…
By now you’ve probably seen them: the dessert concoction of waffle meets ice cream.
These Hong-Kong inspired treats are served up by Wowfulls, which didn’t have a store in NYC... until now! Opening March 31, with a grand opening event running until April 2, at 309 E Houston Street, Wowfulls will be serving up their crispy-outside, soft-inside, egg waffles in a variety of flavors, from pumpkin spice to pepperoni and cheese. The waffle is then topped with vanilla or the ‘flavor of the week’ ice cream, sprinkles and Pocky sticks. We’re practically drooling. READ MORE…

Now, I know we said there’s no way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day besides drinking, but eating is always a good idea too.
Every good drinker knows it’s not breakfast but the meal before you start drinking that’s the most important meal of the day. So we’ve compiled another list, this one of all kinds of traditional Irish dishes (yes, believe it or not, there’s more to it than just potatoes) and where to find them this weekend. We have you covered for all 3 meals and even desert, so go Irish for the entire day! READ MORE…
