Who was lucky enough to have a snow day today?
Sure, the blizzard wasn't as intense as everyone thought it would be, so we might try and slip out to celebrate one of the most important of holidays– Pi Day (March 14th... 3-14... This Year’s City of Dreams Pavilion at Governors Island Will Be Made Using 300,000 Recycled Cans
Governor’s Isle, open sesame!

This year’s Figment Art Festival is coming in early June, only a month after the Isle reopens for spring on May 1st.

This year’s festival staple attraction— the City of Dreams Pavilion— will be built from 300,000 recycled aluminum cans that have been melted down and molded into intricate patterns.

Team Aesop is Kickstarting the project, and it’s supporting the community, too, by sourcing a full 100,000 of their cans from Brooklyn’s Sure We Can nonprofit.

Snowy Ponies Captured By Cops & Staten Island Residents After Slippery Chase
Possibly the most adorable and hilarious snow day story yet: two ponies were spotted trotting through the streets of Staten Island after escaping from a stable nearby.

Off-duty cop and local resident Robert Stasio saw them outside his kitchen window while enjoying his breakfast. He actually managed to safely wrangle them himself (after being dragged through the snow for a bit).

Cops were called to the scene and now the ponies are back home safe. And that’s a snow day story for the books. READ MORE…

Wowfulls Is Finally Opening a Brick-And-Mortar Store on the LES This Month
By now you’ve probably seen them: the dessert concoction of waffle meets ice cream.

These Hong-Kong inspired treats are served up by Wowfulls, which didn’t have a store in NYC... until now!

Opening March 31, with a grand opening event running until April 2, at 309 E Houston Street, Wowfulls will be serving up their crispy-outside, soft-inside, egg waffles in a variety of flavors, from pumpkin spice to pepperoni and cheese.

The waffle is then topped with vanilla or the ‘flavor of the week’ ice cream, sprinkles and Pocky sticks.
