This week, the Republican candidate in the Georgia special election Karen Handel sent a fundraising email in OPPOSITION of letting eligible voters in the district register to vote.For no good reason, voter registration had been closed since before the primary election, which took place more than two months before the June 20 runoff. So Democrats sued to extend the voter registration deadline into the runoff period -- and WON, extending the deadline until later this month In response, Karen Handel told her supporters that the news "is going to boil your blood."As Georgia Secretary of State, Handel used her position as chief election official in the state to suppress the votes of minority communities. And now she's doubling down on her animosity to having eligible voters be able to cast their ballots.We need leaders dedicated to protecting voters’ ability to cast their votes and have their votes count, not vote suppressors like Karen Handel.PFAW's working in Georgia's 6th District to help defeat Handel and elect our endorsed candidate Jon Ossoff -- a young progressive mentored by Congressman John Lewis with a strong commitment to defending voting rights.
But we have 24 to raise another $14,000 to meet our budget.
