The Sun's "evil" twin is probably lurking beyond the Solar System

What is perhaps so troubling about the shooter of the Republican lawmakers is that this deranged killer may very well have been a radicalized leftist who was impacted enormously by the media. Violence from the left is a growing phenomenon that is affecting so many groups including Pro-Israel and conservative students on campus. The solution is not to ban free speech, but to tone down rhetoric all around – especially anti-free speech rhetoric from the left.

RESPECTED FRIENDS

Anti-wildlife members of Congress have introduced legislative attacks that would gut the Endangered Species Act — and our friends over at Oceana need your help to stop them.
This landmark law has prevented 99% of the species under its care from going extinct, and it has helped revive iconic species like the bald eagle, the American alligator, the California condor and the Southern sea otter. Please join Oceana by taking action — tell Congress to defend the Endangered Species Act from attack.

Sincerely,

Rhea

99 percent effective, 100 percent needs your help
Oceana | Protecting the World's Oceans
Wavemaker,
Southern sea otters were nearly hunted to extinction. At one point, fewer than 50 remained.
To the relief of near-shore ecosystems and internet GIF lovers, these cute and ecologically important animals were saved... thanks to the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
But now this landmark conservation law faces a slew of attacks from anti-environment interests in Congress. Imperiled ocean animals — like endangered and threatened sea turtles and whales — need you to speak up on their behalf, before it's too late.
The ESA provides concrete solutions for the conservation of species in peril.
It's one of our nation's most successful and popular laws. Passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, the Act has prevented 99 percent of the species under its care from going extinct. That's nearly a perfect track record!
Few laws can claim that kind of success. Yet now special interests are trying to weaken and dismantle the ESA and the protections it affords wildlife that are on the brink of disappearing forever.
We can't let Congress do away with these desperately needed protections. Extinction isn't an outcome we can allow.
Alex Gray
For the oceans,
Alex Gray

Suck at packing? You're not alone. Some have called it a science; others a hard-earned art form one rarely achieves in their lifetime. Whatever. It doesn't have to be either. It can just be easy.
Say hello to the Joyus Luggage Shelf. It's the convenient, collapsible sorting system for any vacation.
It takes the stress out of packing and unpacking with spaces for 7 pairs of socks, 7 pairs of underwear, 7 shirts, 5 pairs pants, a pair of shoes—and room left over for all your remaining miscellaneous packing needs.
The Luggage Shelf then collapses down to a size that enables one to fit in most carry-on sized bags, or for two luggage shelves to occupy a regular-sized suitcase.
BOOM! Stop folding clothes like they're a burrito—we're all bad enough at the homemade burrito as is, so why we try to carry that shortcoming from the kitchen to vacation is just absurd.
Spare yourself the headaches that come with planning your summer vacay and check out the Joyus Luggage Shelf.

Dear ,
Tell the USDA: Protect our health, farmers and environment from risky GMOs!

The GMO apple could hit supermarkets this fall.
This science experiment disguised as food was produced using a new technique called “gene silencing.” It could pose health risks, hurt farmers and damage our environment. The USDA should be stopping risky new products like this. But the agency is still using 20-year-old rules to review them. We need your help to change that!Tell the USDA: Fix the rules to protect our health, farmers and the environment from risky GMO crops. The USDA is supposed to defend farmers from GMO contamination. But instead, it’s rubber-stamping everything companies like Monsanto and Dow want. This system is horrible for farmers. There are no rules on preventing the spread of GMO seeds -- or the pesticides that are used on them -- to nearby farms, schools or neighborhoods. There is no required monitoring of these crops for impacts on the soil and pollinators, or people’s health after they’ve been commercialized. And there are no protections for those harmed by GMO contamination -- including farmworkers or organic farmers who can lose their hard-won organic certifications if their crops get contaminated. This system is also bad for the environment. Many of these crops are designed to withstand massive pesticide use. And the pesticides used -- including Monsanto’s Roundup® -- are devastating important ecosystems and organisms like monarch butterflies. But because not all GMOs are regulated, the USDA is keeping you in the dark about new GMO applications.Tell the USDA: We need strong, mandatory GMO regulations that protect our planet, our health and farmers -- not Monsanto’s profits.Chemical companies like Dow and Monsanto are hoping the USDA continues to let them self-police their products. After all, the old system has been working for them -- their products often don’t have mandatory environmental or safety assessments. That means the products get on the market faster -- meaning more profits for them, and more risks for us.The only winners in this current system are the big chemical companies that sell GMOs and pesticides, like Monsanto, Dow and DuPont. We need a truly sustainable, safe and transparent food system. It’s time for the USDA to start moving us in that direction.
Submit your comments to the USDA before June 19! Help create a food system and regulations that protect farmer livelihoods, our health and the environment.
Standing with you,
Dana Perls,Senior food and technology campaigner,
