“Have you ever lived in Mexico, Kevin?”

Today, House Speaker Paul Ryan griped about Democrats wanting to attach provisions to a Hurricane relief package as a way to raise the debt ceiling and save DACA recipients from deportation, which is funny because Ryan tried the same trick when he was in the minority. Even more awkward: Donald Trump then sided with the Democrats.
While we’re on the subject of short-term memory loss, Senate Republicans have to decide whether to let Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) use the same gimmick that Republicans used to thwart President Obama’s judicial nominees, or bite the hypocrisy bullet once again.

Hurricane Irma is plowing through the Caribbean as a Category 5 storm, and headed towards Florida at breakneck speeds. Any meteorologist will tell you it’s one of the largest and potentially most catastrophic storms to ever threaten the United States. Or you can put your life in the hands of Rush Limbaugh, who swears the hurricane is part of a liberal plot. Limbaugh has been a climate change-denier for years, but with “once every 500 years”-size storms occurring twice in as many weeks, his rhetoric is actually dangerous.
ICYMI: Trump’s voting commission allegedly uses personal email for government business. You know, like they criticized Hillary Clinton for doing.

You can be an unarmed teenager, or a 12-year-old playing with a toy. You can be a woman letting a police officer pass you, or even an NFL superstar. But all it takes for police to threaten your life is being black.
Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s leader and a Nobel Peace Prize winner, emphasized on Tuesday that the fraught relations between Myanmar’s different communities stem from an “iceberg of misinformation” promoted by terrorists.
The Trump administration may be trying to undermine and defund Planned Parenthood, but they’re proving that success is the greatest revenge. The women’s health organization just won the Lasker Award.
