Jimmy Fallon, like a lot of us, watched the news last week and was deeply affected by what he saw after Hurricane Harvey ravaged South Texas. But, he was also inspired, especially by Houston Texan J.J. Watt.
Fallon returned to "The Tonight Show," to announce his hefty donation with a lot of pizazz, "Last week we saw the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey on the state of Texas. But in the face of this tragedy, we saw good. We saw communities banding together. Neighbors helping neighbors. Strangers helping strangers. So many heroes—people like Mattress Mack, who opened up his stores and showrooms for those who needed shelter. The group of people who formed a human chain to save a man from a flooded SUV… And J.J. Watt from the Houston Texans, who has raised over $18 million dollars to provide food, water, and supplies to the victims." | |||||||

John Cena is one of the greatest entertainers of a generation. One of the most endearing qualities about Cena is that he's kind of boring and down home. He is a larger-than-life character in the ring, but really-- he's just a nice guy with some really bad dad jokes. | ESPN Denies Report That Taylor Swift is Performing During College Football Playoff National Championship | |||||||
File this one under things I never thought I'd write. And you can put it right next to the one about Taylor Swift premiering a song before one of the biggest games of the current college football season.
After "Entertainment Tonight" reported that Swift would be performing during the College Football Playoff National Championship, ESPN has released a statement saying that's not true, "Reports of Taylor Swift performing at the College Football Playoff National Championship are inaccurate. We are pleased that Taylor chose ESPN and ABC's college football coverage as a platform to debut her new song '...Ready For It?' however, there is nothing more to announce at this time." "ET" reported that, "Swift has a deal in place with ESPN to roll out music from Reputation throughout the season." ESPN is a very unlikely place for Swift's fans to go looking for new music. Absolutely none of this makes sense to me. Also, the College Football Playoff National Championship game rarely has halftime entertainment. | |||||||

In 2014 Thomas Rhett was a scruffy, up-and-coming singer-songwriter with a few decent songwriting credits-- Jason Aldean's "1994," Lee Brice's "Parking Lot Party," and Florida Georgia Line's "Round Here." His debut album, It Goes Like This, was starting to pick up steam after its first two singles didn't chart on Billboard's Country Airplay chart and barely reached the Top 20.
By the time 2015 rolled around he dropped the boots and backwards ball cap, had three No. 1 hits from It Goes Like This and debuted his cleaned up, slicked up look at the 50th Annual ACM Awards. For 90 seconds, TR danced around on stage like Justin Timberlake and sang a song he wrote. And he did it very well. Some would say that was a major turning point in his career, as he carefully released "Crash and Burn" a week after that performance. It was a funky R&B track that sounded like it was from the 1950s. It introduced the world to TR's musical influences, which were varied, and his sound, which was eclectic. After "Crash and Burn" went to No. 1 and his second album, Tangled Up, was released, "Die A Happy Man" came barrelling down the pipes. It was at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart for 17 weeks. The song won ACM and CMA Single of the Year and was nominated for a GRAMMY. (He also won ACM Male Vocalist of the Year.) | |||||||

Two months after Taylor Swift drops her sixth studio album, reputation, Kim and Kanye West will become parents for the third time. Luckily, the media attention should most fall out of Taylor's album announcement cycle.
According to TMZ (always reliable), Kim and Kanye will welcome the baby via surrogate in January. TMZ has also shared that, "They paid $45k for the surrogate, who is prohibited from smoking, drinking or doing drugs during the pregnancy. Also, no hot tubs, hair dye and raw fish." Kim and Kanye were married in May 2014 and they have two kids, Saint, 21 months old, and North, 4. The couple has been publicly feuding with Taylor since time began.
