RESPECTED FRIENDS,

Tell your Representative: Don't hand over Red Cliffs Conservation Area to Big Oil.
This week, news broke that the Trump administration wants to strip protections for Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah, Nevada’s Gold Butte, Oregon’s Cascade-Siskiyou and other public lands. But Trump isn’t the only one trying to hand over our wild places to Big Oil. Utah Rep. Chris Stewart introduced a bill to allow development in the pristine Red Cliffs National Conservation Area. This would threaten the endangered Mojave Desert tortoise and threaten this protected region with drilling. We need your help to stop this dangerous bill! Tell your Representative: Don't give away Utah's Red Cliffs Conservation Area to the fossil fuel industry.Rep. Stewart is a long-time climate denier and former CEO of a consulting firm that works with the fossil fuel industry. During his 2012 run for Congress, he took contributions from the Koch brothers and ExxonMobil. And Rep. Stewart has long wanted to open our national parks and wild places to the fossil fuel industry. He even ran for Congress on the promise to do so! Now, he sees Trump in the White House as an opportunity to get his disastrous bill signed. We can’t let that happen.Tell your Representative: Don’t hand over our public lands to Big Oil.If Big Oil goes into Red Cliffs Conservation Area, it could wipe out endangered species. It would destroy a large section of pristine wilderness. And it would lead us closer to climate chaos. Our climate is already at a tipping point. We need to break our fossil fuel addiction and transition to truly clean, renewable energy -- not put coal mines and oil wells in the middle of our last wild places. Together, we can send the message to Congress: our public lands belong to the American people, not the fossil fuel industry. Write to your Representative today! Keep Big Oil out of Red Cliffs Conservation Area!
Standing with you,Ben Schreiber,
