Saturn's moon may be "like a candy store for microbes" A new NASA report says that the Cassini probe has found evidence that hydrogen exists on Enceladus. The finding adds to the idea that the moon might harbor life in its subsurface ocean, as microbes could feed on the gas. Plus, Hubble has spied a plume on Europa for the second time. Read more

Respected friends,

Help us get 50,000 signatures demanding that Trump release his tax returns!
Donald Trump is waging war on the EPA. He wants to gut our protections for clean air, clean water, and the climate. And because Trump still refuses to release his tax returns, we don’t know how he will personally profit from these attacks. The American people deserve to know if Trump is profiting from his giveaways to Big Oil. Help us get 50,000 signatures demanding that Donald Trump release his tax returns! Donald Trump is the first modern President to hide his tax returns from the American people. At the same time, he has more potential conflicts of interest than any other President in recent history. Until we see his tax returns, every action he takes will beg the question -- how is he benefitting personally? Take his nomination of Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State. Tillerson won the Order of Friendship from Russian President Vladimir Putin for his work making oil and gas deals.  So why did Trump choose someone with close ties to Putin and the oil industry -- and no government experience -- to be our nation’s top diplomat? Could he have business ties to Big Oil or Putin that he wants to protect? Trump has a thin skin. He responds to public pressure. And already, more than a million people have signed the petition to Trump demanding to see his tax returns. If Friends of the Earth members like you add another 50,000 signatures, we’ll be able to build on that momentum. Join the growing movement to push Trump to release his tax returns! No one knows the full extent of Trump’s foreign financial and business interests. Government ethics experts have already said Trump is likely violating the Constitution by personally profiting from the presidency. And he could even be indebted to foreign interests that would give them influence over the commander in chief. Our environment could hang in the balance. Our national security could be at stake. The resignation of Michael Flynn from his post as National Security Advisor shows how many questions there still are about Trump’s motivations.
Trump’s tax returns are key to answering those questions.
Demand that Donald Trump publicly release his tax returns NOW.

Standing with you,
Ben Schreiber,
Senior political strategist,
Friends of the Earth
