I once read a very compelling self-help book...but when I went searching for it in an e-book format I couldn't find it. So I contacted the author, with a proposal. She responded positively and we earned thousands of dollars a year during the term of our agreement.Over the last few days I've talked about different ways you can create income from low-cost e-books. Here's another way, and it's one of the simpler and faster ways to create income...because the content has already been created. The strategy is to license existing print books that were written before the digital age, convert them to an e-book format, and pay the author part of the royalties you collect.When I checked today, I discovered there are 31 million paperback books at Amazon and a little over 3 million Kindle e-books. So that means there are more than 25 million books that haven't been converted to e-book (and that doesn't count the millions more that aren't even at Amazon).Of course, some of those print books are published by major publishers, and they're not likely to license their books to you.
But there are many older books, by major publishers, that were published before e-books—so the publisher didn't purchase the e-rights from the author.Those authors are prime candidates for licensing, as are the authors who self-published their print books and don't yet have a Kindle up (it's usually because they don't understand how simple it is to convert a print book to e-book, or they've got bigger priorities in their lives). You'll probably find prospects in your own library. Lately, the access to potentially licensable works has been made easier by the appearance of websites likeiprlicense.com, where various rights in a wide range of genres are available. Also, imagine the number of books that have been published in foreign languages but have never made it to English. The well of books that are available for you to profit from is almost unlimited.Are you thinking that this e-book conversion thing might not be that easy? If you can upload a Word document to a freelancer website, they'll convert it for as little as $5. And I've even got a secret "back-door" way to get it converted for nothing, which I'll show you. Once it's converted you need an image of the front cover and you're in business. Even if you have a new cover created, it can be done quickly and for a minimal outlay.If you sell the e-book on your own website or on a Facebook page you can have cash in your bank 48 hours later. Going with one of the big retailers like Amazon, Apple, or Barnes & Noble will take longer to get paid, but it's still pretty quick money. Licensing books from others can be a quick and lucrative way for you to fund the life of your dreams. Watch this special presentation I've prepared for you where I show you how...
