The Frequent Flier

Everybody and their mother in Australia knows Neil Perry's restaurants—whether you're an expense account power-luncher or splurging on your anniversary dinner. Next step, Perry is America-bound with a restaurant in LA in the works. It's a logical step for this frequent flier, who designs in-flight meals for Qantas. When not jetting around the world, Perry helms Rockpool Dining Group, which over the past 30 years has opened restaurants ranging from Sydney's iconic Rockpool Restaurant to a Bavarian-style beer hall in Brisbane. WOM's very own Leiti Hsu did lunch with Perry at the 2017 World's 50 Best Restaurants awards in Melbourne to talk everything from dancing on stereos to pro packing tips. MEET NEIL [Journy]

Is delivery food obsession a thing?!!

Since she moved to LA four years ago, editor Mallory Rubin has ordered in over 700 meals. Her enablers? Postmates, Caviar and a lack of time to eat her way through the sprawling city. "In Los Angeles, delivery makes a big city feel boundless… This technology has allowed me to discover pieces of LA that the basic rhythms of my life might otherwise not." Ordering in a post-dinner ice cream from around the corner might seem excessive, but Rubin insists it's a logical reaction to crazy schedules that sap one of the energy to do anything with the evening other than veg out in front of Top ChefGET THE DOORBELL [The Ringer]

Panko power!

Sure you've seen chicken katsu and tonkatsu on the menu at your favorite Japanese restaurant, but what does it mean? "Katsu" translates as cutlet and you can think of chicken katsu as Japan's answer to wiener schnitzel or veal Milanese. The difference lies in chicken katsu's panko-only crust and requisite dousing of savory-sweet sauce, which gives each light and crunchy bite a tart umami kick. It's a crave-worthy twist on fried chicken that we want at home everyday. GET THE RECIPE [Serious Eats]

Anyone else feel like Easter Sunday is a highly underrated holiday?
Seriously is there any other holiday that so thoroughly centers around brunch? Not that we really need any more excuses to brunch– especially with so many yummy, boozy spots all over this d*mn city.
And if you still need weekend plans, we gotchu.
Get ready foodies, there's also a new joint coming this spring that has crowned itself the "Chipotle for pizza"... meaning unlimited toppings on a personal pie.
Because NYC is anything if not extra, there's also a bubble tea exhibit coming to town later this month, and you would have to actually kill us to keep us away.
Spending too much money on trendy treats? This app can help you make sure you don't eat through what should be your rent check.
Adulting getting you down? Score a stay at Club Getaway, an adults-only summer camp perfect for reacquainting yourself with your inner child.
And because we love y'all almost as much as we love food, we're setting one lucky winner up with $1,000 worth of fresh food and cold booze. Don't miss out.
Are you as disappointed in the death of more Gilmore Girls episodes as we are? Drown your sorrows with some cocktails inspired by the Lorelais themselves.
TGIF

If you’re planning on being anything but good on this Good Friday, don’t worry.
You’re not alone.
We’re just as ready to start the debauchery as you as soon as we walk run home from the office.
For those of you following at home, we’ve got some free roller skating, a Holi festival, and an Easter parade lined up this weekend.
And if you’re up for a cheap laugh, one of our lovely Editorial Interns is performing stand up this Saturday to raise funds to end homelessness in NYC.
Don’t worry Katie, we’ll be laughing with you, not at you.

Boba Bonanza

Due to the wildly popularized Asian treat making its way to NYC, now New Yorkers more than ever are enjoying having balls in their mouths.
No, not those balls.
We’re talking about boba, perv.
And if you just can’t get enough of those little black orgasmic balls, there’s an entire pop-up exhibit coming to the Bowery to satiate your appetite.
Oh, did we forget to mention the Boba Room?
It’s full of 25 giant bubbles to play with, neon-art and fiberglass sculptures, and balloon artists.
We honestly can’t wait for this sh*t.

To be filled with salted almonds and gummy candies or car keys and spare lipsticks.
Even if the coq au vin is a little dry, the Le Creuset presentation will impress even the toughest critics.
This fancy cheese board will hopefully warrant two thank-yous: one written and the other in the form of a wine night at their place.
Nothing says “Let’s celebrate!” quite like a monogrammed bar set.
Between endless crystal candlesticks and stainless steel appliances, the couple may be grateful for a fun, kitschy gift. Bonus points for pre-planting a succulent inside.
If cash feels a little impersonal, look to a universal travel gift card like Honeyfund—redeemable for things like airfare, hotels and dining out.
For a more permanent place in their minds (and home), treat them to a fabulous piece of framed artwork.
Helping your friends start their cookbook collection is nice, and throwing Chrissy Teigen into the mix is necessary.
Chances are a blender is going to be on their registry. Might as well get them the best.
Because these Champagne glasses won’t match their registry set, they can be used as special occasion glasses, reserved exclusively for anniversaries and that evening when the little tyke finally goes to bed on his own.
Pro tip: Try to slip this special-edition Instax camera to the bride and groom before they leave for their honeymoon.
For the couple who has everything, give them a DIY herb garden that they can grow whether they live in a five-story walk-up or a white-picket-fenced Colonial.
A pitcher adds a certain level of sophistication to a weekend brunch or holiday dinner—the rose-gold accent is just the cherry on top.
This speaker will bring their parties to life thanks to the easy-to-use Sonos app. Confab with a friend to get two so the pair can have different playlists going in different rooms.
