Catherine Cortez Masto for Senate
Stjepan –
Nevada was ground zero for the housing crisis that shook our country to its core. The recession of 2008 – caused in large part by the predatory practices of the Big Banks – was the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. It destroyed American families. People lost their homes, their retirement accounts and decades' worth of savings. And in Nevada, we felt it more than anywhere. While many Americans still have the scars to show from the housing collapse that brought them to their knees, our country has been consistently recovering. And one of the major reasons we have been able to do so is because of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) – created by my friend Sen. Elizabeth Warren. The CFPB is what's helping keep the Big Banks in check, fighting on behalf of American families who fell victim to the financial industry's excessive risk-taking.But now our consumer watchdog is under attack! Republicans are adamant about rolling back protections that ensure consumers are treated fairly in the financial marketplace. That's why I'm calling on you to join me and sign this petition demanding Congress support and defend the CFPB! The Big Banks are a powerful special interest, and for years before the housing crisis, they were used to calling all the shots. But as Nevada's attorney general, I refused to sit back while the Big Banks preyed upon Nevada's middle-class families. I took on the Big Banks, fighting them tooth and nail to get the relief and justice Nevada families deserved – and I brought back over $1.9 billion to Nevada. But Republicans control both chambers of Congress – not to mention the White House – and they are already making quick moves to roll back the consumer financial protections that help keep the Big Banks accountable. Can I count on you to join me and raise your voice to call on Congress to protect the CFPB, which helps keep the Big Banks from preying upon American families? We cannot go back to the days when there were no protections against Big Banks making ridiculous profits at the cost of American families' financial futures.
¡La lucha sigue! The fight continues!

Je li ređenje u Anglikanskoj crkvi od sada valjano?

by Robert

Friends,

This weekend, we celebrate our moms. However, despite all their bluster about family values, Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress refuse to implement policies that would raise the wages of working moms.If we were to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, 7.6 million working moms would receive a raise. That’s 32 percent of working moms! Sign the petition today calling on President Trump and Congress to implement policies that raise the wages of working moms and of all working people. That starts with raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

On Mother’s Day, the best gift mom can receive is better pay.

Thank you for working to create an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.

Sincerely,

Heidi Shierholz
Director of Policy, EPI

Democrats.

Thanks for sharing your feedback for our new CEO, Jess O'Connell.

You're one of our most active supporters, and we're going to keep relying on you to help Democrats push back against Republicans at every level of government.

Here are three quick, easy things you can do right now to stop Republicans:

  1. Spread the word. Let your friends know that you've committed to electing Democrats, and ask them to join you! Share on Facebook or tweet that you're in.

  2. Make a donation. We rely on supporters like you to make sure that our candidates have the resources they need to win. Your donation of $10 or more today will support Democrats who are fighting for our values at every level: https://my.democrats.org/Invest-in-Democrats

  3. Become a Factivist. Help get out the facts about Republican candidates and their disastrous policies. Sign up to become a Factivist today, and we'll make sure you get the latest information to share with your friends and neighbors.
Thanks for staying involved,

DNC HQ
