HELLO RESPECTED FRIENDS,
I know you must be busy; I appreciate you taking the time to open this email.
Could you take just a few more moments to come back in time with me?
Let’s go back exactly 100 years and consider the events of Fatima, September 1917.
Over the past two months, little Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco had been through some very traumatic events.
First, in July, they had seen a vision of hell – the ground beneath their feet opened up and they saw hundreds of damned souls cascading into an abyss of fire with beasts and demons in horrible shapes.
Terrifying!
One month later, the three shepherd children experienced a little hell on earth. They were taken captive by the mayor, psychologically tortured for three days and threatened with being boiled in oil …
Cut off from family and friends, thrown into a jail cell with surly criminals …
So, with the September apparition approaching, I would think they would tremble in fear, wondering what would happen next.
Nevertheless, on September 13, 1917, these children overcame their fears, their doubts, their insecurities.
They deemed keeping true to their promise to Our Lady greater than any difficulty that may come about.
They never gave up!
Respected friends, these children provide a lesson for you and for me.
I mean, if three little children can overcome their fears to stay true to Our Lady, so can you and I!
Let’s go back even further in time:
Remember in the Gospels when Our Lord Jesus Christ drew a little child close to Him and said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you shall not enter the kingdom of Heaven.”
Well, throughout the Fatima experience, the three shepherd children gave us examples of child-like fidelity, trust, love.
The Fatima message may have been spoken by Our Lady, but it was acted out by Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco.
When you wonder, in the midst of the chaos and deception all around you, how Our Lady wants you to act, you can look to the Fifth Apparition of Fatima and be inspired by the perseverance and trust you see there.

I remain your friend,
In Jesus and Mary,
