Dear STJEPAN,

August isn't over yet, but it will be soon. So many Christian writers have called in to take advantage of the lowest prices of the year, not wanting to see this opportunity pass them by.
I will be working late tonight AND on Saturday from 10am to 2pm to make sure I have time to help every writer take that step toward their dream.
Give me a call at 1-855-456-4326 and let's talk about your book idea. Don't miss our lowest prices of the year or the FREE bonus offers included. August will be gone before you know it!

Blessings,

Eric Sullivan

Levo The Brief

An Emotional Showing

It’s no secret that showing emotion at work is a bit of a taboo topic. Women are often criticized for crying at work, even though people like Sheryl Sandberg say it’s better than OK. And now Taylor Swift is helping to change the status quo. This week, during a concert in Glendale, Ariz., she sang “Ronan,” a song based on a blog from Maya Thompson, a local Arizona woman who lost her 4-year-old son to cancer. In videos of the concert posted online, Swift says, “One of the bravest things a human being can ever do is to go through something absolutely unbearable and then share their experience with the world. And I think the braver you are, the more brutally honest you are.” Read more about the concert here. [Related: “I’m Not Afraid to Say It—I Love Taylor Swift”]

Positive Schmositive

Maybe Oscar the Grouch is onto something. New research from New York University finds that having a pessimistic attitude may actually help you accomplish more of your goals. The study authors’ reasoning is that when you start indulging in lots of fantasies, it can get in the way of the tangible tasks you need to do to get there—like studying for the LSATs. But they also admit that you shouldn’t sit around being totally negative. Their happy middle-ground comes down to WOOP: Wish, Outcome, Obstacles, Plan. Watch this video from The Science of Us for more. [Related: 8 Things You Stop Giving a Sh*t About During Senior Year]

It’s a Good Week to Be Named Jessica

Yesterday we wrote about the success of Jessica Alba and The Honest Company, but she isn’t the only showbiz-girl-turned-billion-dollar-business-mogul named Jessica. Jessica Simpson has reached the 10-year mark with her super-popular and lucrative fashion brand. “A lot of people are afraid to listen [to their instinct] because a dream of [theirs] could be too big and it seems too big to attain,” Simpson told WWD, who interviewed her recently to commemorate this important milestone. “I don’t believe any dream is too big. There are always more dreams to have and I feel that if you look at life that way, nothing will ever seem like a failure.” And like any person in fashion, you can probably guess what she is going to do next: start an athleisure line. Because it isn’t a fashion brand if it doesn’t include yoga pants with a geometric pattern. [Related: 3 Artistic Millennials to Connect With Today]

Rachel Zoe reading her resume in a new video for Glamour. It’s amazing to see step-by-step how she came to be so successful. And like many of us, she got her first job—an internship at the now defunct magazine YM—through a really crazy connection. “My parents’ friend’s daughter-in-law’s sister’s friend,” she said. And it was there that she realized what she wanted to do forever. (Fashion, obviously!)
