RESPECTED FRIENDS
The Department of Labor’s mission is to improve Americans’ wages and working conditions and to enforce our labor laws. But if Donald Trump has his way, the top cop on the job will be a labor law violator.

That’s because Trump’s pick for labor secretary is fast-food CEO Andrew Puzder.

Puzder has made his fortune on the backs of low-wage workers and fails every test for labor secretary.

He doesn’t believe in the federal minimum wage and has threatened to replace his fast-food chain’s employees with robots if the minimum wage rises high enough.

He’s opposed to the updated overtime rule that would give millions of workers the right to reasonable work hours or to receive the overtime pay they deserve.

His fast-food chain has a long history of wage theft—cheating workers until it gets caught by state or federal investigators or gets sued by employees.

Sign the petition today opposing Andrew Puzder’s nomination for secretary of labor.

EPI cofounder and former Labor Secretary Robert Reich said of Puzder’s nomination:

“If you have a president—a secretary of labor who’s against all of these labor laws, there’s a substantial danger that they will not be enforced, because that’s what the Labor Department does, is it enforces.”

Join the EPI Policy Center and stand up for workers’ rights. Oppose Andrew Puzder for secretary of labor.

Thank you,

Ross Eisenbrey
Vice President, EPI Policy Center
