WELCOME TO CROATIA

Croatia, a small country for a great holiday, throughout its history it was a rewarding place of residence of many celebrities. The book "Welcome to Croatia" combining fiction and real people and events, on the border of novels, travelogues and leisurely tour guide brings the lesser known facts about Stay Alfred Hitchcocha, Daniel Day-Lewis, Joseph Brodsky, Nick Cave, Maria Theresa, James Joyce, Spirit Paul, Marco Polo, Elizabeth Taylor, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Danilo Kis, Noam Chomsky and others in the Croatian regions. Alfred Hitchcoch was once said that the most beautiful sunset seen in Zadar, which he documented his photograph on the Zadar waterfront. They say that the best Hamlet in Dubrovnik (on Lovrjenac) was world famous actor, Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis. As the strict ruler Maria Theresa spent in Kutjevo cellar with unforgettable Baron Trenk and is it true that the St. Paul in one of his trips visited Mljet, according to residents of this beautiful island, not Malta, as it says in the Bible? James Joyce, author of one of the most famous novels of the 20th century (Ulysses) lived six months in Pula, where he taught English. What worked singer Nick Cave on one of his visits to Zagreb and that seems meet and relaxed atmosphere Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and Marshal Tito in Brijuni?
These are just some of the questions and travel through that takes young (fictional) travel guide Lawrence Belin. This book will guide you through its thirteen trips (with which black and white), laugh, get to know the beauty of many Croatian towns and cities, or something, and to learn. You may open some new horizons, since I'm Belin in the preamble states that "travel is released." Christian Vujicic was born on 13 April 1973 in Zagreb where he finished elementary and high school and graduated in philosophy and religiologists. At the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb starting postgraduate studies in the field of contemporary philosophy. He has written two books: Mr. John Doe (shortlisted for the award Fran Galovic 2007) and in collaboration with Zeljko Špoljar Welcome to Croatia: experience of a tourist guide (Cyclops Award 2006). He has published articles and reviews in several cultural magazines and newspapers (Republic Journal). Works published by Left as an editor. In the Public Library Bogdan Ogrizović an editor and forums in which to deal with social and humanistic topics. Game Changer

The world lost a great figure in sports today. Hall of Fame coach Pat Summitt, a legend in women’s college basketball who brought the Tennessee Volunteers to eight national titles in her 38 seasons at the university, died Tuesday morning. She was 64.  Summit was also named the NCAA coach of the year seven times and led the Lady Vols to 22 Final Fours in her 40-year coaching career. “Pat Summitt is synonymous with Tennessee, but she truly is a global icon who transcended sports and spent her entire life making a difference in other peoples’ lives,” Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart said in a statement.

Gossip Girl

Curtis Sittenfeld’s new book Eligible, an updated retelling of Pride and Predjudice, is one of our favorite summer reads (Lizzy Bennet doing Crossfit? Yes please!) but before that book, there was Prep. Her amazing coming of age story about feeling like an outsider in the impossibly bizarre world of an elite boarding school has become a modern classic. Named one of the top five works of fiction for 2005 by The New York Times, the novel is now getting turned into a drama series for HBO with 30 Rockwriter-producer Colleen McGuinness and Game of Thrones executive producer Carolyn Strauss at the helm. Boarding school and preppy clothes? Sounds like we’ve got an even more intense version of Gossip Girl coming for us. Please make headbands a thing again.

Readin’ and Boozin’

Once upon a time there were these things called books and you would find books in these places called stores. One of those magical places was called Barnes & Noble. You could literally sit there all day reading these paper manuscripts while sipping on an overpriced latte. But then Amazon, iPads, Kindles and Netflix were invented and people forgot how to turn paper pages. But Barnes & Noble will not go quietly into the night. The chain is now going to serve wine and beer in case you like “reading” your gossip magazines with a little drink on the side (and who doesn’t?) This could be a big deal for book clubs as now people may actually open the book instead of just “pretending to read it” and then drink wine for three hours. Plus, now you can get a muffin from Starbucks with a glass of Pinot Grigio AKA my breakfast which is the American dream.
