Victoria Beckham Debuted A Major Hair Change And We're Seriously Into It

The White House, Washington
Back when I was a girl, I had all kinds of big dreams for myself. But by the time I started school, I began encountering folks who seemed to doubt my ability to reach my goals:Teachers who thought girls just weren’t very smart, and would call on the boys in class instead. People who thought a girl shouldn’t have ambition and who would ask my brother what career he planned to have, but would ask me what kind of man I wanted to marry. I soon realized that the hopes I had for myself were in conflict with the messages I was receiving from the world around me that girls’ voices were somehow less important; that being strong and powerful and outspoken just wasn’t appropriate or attractive for a girl. But fortunately, because countless strong women -- and men -- marched, advocated, spoke out, and broke all kinds of barriers and glass ceilings, girls today are beginning to get a whole new set of messages about their place in the world. And today, we all know one thing for sure: We are stronger when we stand together. That's what my friend Oprah and I will be sitting down together to discuss next Tuesday, June 14th, at the United State of Women Summit. We are in awe of the trailblazing women who came before us, and we want to continue that progress and empower women and girls for generations to come. And we want to hear from you. So get your questions ready! Between now and the Summit, tweet them to @FLOTUS or  @Oprah using the hashtag #StateofWomen, then tune in to watch our conversation live on June 14th at 5pm ET at go.wh.gov/usow. You might just hear those questions answered! And, don't forget to share it with your friends.
United State of Women
With us at the Summit will be so many incredible people doing extraordinary things to empower women around the world. People like Amani Khatahtbeh, who works to eliminate stereotypes surrounding Islam and promote Muslim women in Western societies through a site she founded; Amy Poehler who uses her comedic gifts to bring people together to make change; and Shonda Rhimes, who has created wildly popular TV shows featuring diverse casts that defy stereotypes and inspire us to challenge inequality. I am so excited to stand with these women and so many others next week, and I hope that you will tune in, send your questions, and be part of this exciting moment.

Respected friends,
The next victims of transgender bathrooms
We need your help now before this gets worse. Hersheypark has announced that anyone can go in whatever bathroom they want. This means that a man who thinks he’s a woman can go into a bathroom with your daughter or wife. Thanks to the promotion of the transgender fantasy by liberals, a man can decide at any moment that he is a “woman” and have access to the lady’s room—and yes that includes convicted sex offenders. This is insane, immoral and downright dangerous!
In the name of “tolerance,” Hersheypark is putting our children’s lives and innocence in danger right here in a children’s amusement park. This is gravely unfair toward our innocent children who deserve not to be subject to or accosted by sexual predators. Recently an 8-year-old girl entered a lady’s bathroom in a deli in Chicago only to find herself followed by 33-year-old Reese Hartstirn, a man, who strangled her till she passed out with the intent to molest. He then carried the unconscious girl into a bathroom stall, closing the door so she couldn’t leave. The girl’s mother rushed into the bathroom upon hearing her daughter scream and Hartstirn pushed her away when she tried to rescue her daughter.Even though upright patrons of the deli restrained this predator, this little girl will be traumatized and scarred for life by this horrendous act. Protect our children from the consequences of transgenderism: Sign your petition here
Not playing along with the transgender fantasy is only common sense. We all knew this would happen. Now is our chance to stop this from happening here at Hersheypark. Transgender advocates say that nobody would get hurt, that it’s only about using a bathroom that they feel comfortable in, but we know that’s not true. Take a stance for the millions of children at risk of being targeted by sexual predators that will take full advantage of Hersheypark’s new bathroom policy.

RESPECTED FRIENDS,
My name is Candice Byrd and last week my nightmare with payday loans was on the front page of The New York Times. Stories like mine made headlines as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) released a new set of proposed rules for the destructive payday lending industry. I believe that no one should have to go through what I did. If you agree, tell the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to make rules that are strong enough to stop the payday debt trap once and for all. Please send your payday comment to the CFPB now. It’ll take you less than a minute.

Caption: My portrait in The New York Times. Join me and stand up to payday lenders. Send your comment on payday loans to the CFPB now.

I took out a payday loan in 2011 to help cover a car payment. A few weeks later the lender suggested I roll it over into a second loan. That decision led to a debt spiral that lasted two years and cost me my car, my apartment, and my credit score. And I'm not alone, 12 million people get caught in the debt trap each year with loans that average 300% interest.I am a leader at Illinois People’s Action, an affiliate of National People’s Action, a national partner organization working together with Alliance for a Just Society and USAction. We have organized for years to pressure the CFPB to take action and stop this industry from targeting communities of color and low-income families. The CFPB’s proposed rules are a step in the right direction, but they have to be stronger. Payday lenders have always wormed their way through loopholes in regulation. Let’s tell the CFPB to lay down rules tough enough to finally stop the debt trap. After you send your comment, you’ll see a place to share your own payday story. Have you or someone you know taken out a payday loan and seen the way this greedy, predatory industry purposefully traps people in debt? Share your story with us.

Thank you for taking action,

Candice
