קוראים וקוראות יקרים,
תגידו לי בבקשה אם גם אתם מרגישים כך: העולם פשוט לא יציב.
אנחנו שומעים חדשות אבל כבר לא יודעים למי או למה להאמין. מה נכון, מה פייק ניוז, מה באמת קורה. תנודות בקנה מידה עולמי מתרחשות, אבל אנחנו לא ממש מבינים לאיזה כיוון זה מוביל אותנו. העולם שהכרנו משתנה מול עינינו.
אז איך אתם שומרים על יציבות? מה העוגן שלכם?
אני מאמין שהדרך הטובה ביותר היא פשוט לדעת היכן נמצא המרכז, סביב מה החיים שלנו נעים. לדוגמה, אם מנתח לב יתחיל להתעסק באמצע הניתוח בבדיקת שוק המניות, הוא ייכשל כשלון חרוץ בתפקידו. אם מורה יבדוק את הווצאפ כל שתי דקות באמצע השיעור, התלמידים לא יוכלו ללמוד.
אז מה המרכז שלנו?
אדמו"ר הזקן מגדיר זאת כך:
"וזה כל האדם ותכלית בריאתו, ובריאת כל העולמות עליונים ותחתונים, להיות לו דירה זו בתחתונים". במילים אחרות, התכלית שלשמה נבראנו היא ליצור בית ודירה לבורא יתברך. אנו עושים את באמצעות קיום מצוות ומעשים טובים שהופכים את העולם למקום טוב יותר.
אני מאמין ומקווה שאם ננסה להתמקד במטרה ונקדיש קצת פחות זמן לכל ההפרעות שמסביב, החיים שלנו יהיו הרבה יותר יציבים.

Big Cable is playing dirty in its fight against a fair and open internet.First they spent millions of dollars on lobbyists and campaign contributions. Then, they set up phony grassroots groups to make it seem like the public opposes net neutrality.Now, just as the Federal Communications Commission is about to decide the future of net neutrality, hundreds of thousands of potentially fake comments, many apparently attributed to email addresses that were actually stolen have poured into the FCC, calling for the repeal of net neutrality.1The FCC hasn't bothered to investigate who's doing this—but it's a big problem. We've just announced a massive internet-wide day of action with our allies on July 12 to counter these fake comments with real grassroots action by real human beings. Will you chip in $20 to support our campaign to save the free and open internet, including the Internet-Wide Day of Action to Save Net Neutrality?Net neutrality. It's the principle that the internet should be an open platform where anyone can build a website, open a small business, or create a community. It's the idea that no matter how you use the net—for your job, your schoolwork, or keeping in touch with friends and family—you get treated the same online as anyone else.A record-setting 4 million people commented in favor of the 2015 rules that embody these core principles of net neutrality. As you know, I had the opportunity to question former FBI Director James Comey earlier this morning as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.It was a productive and informative hearing, one where we confirmed many of the news stories that show Trump attempted to interfere in the FBI investigation—a troubling revelation that we must continue to investigate.In my limited time speaking to Mr. Comey I focused on three main threads:First, in regards to the debate over President Trump’s intentions when telling Comey he hoped he would let the investigation into Michael Flynn go, I said the following: “In my experience, when a robber holds a gun to your head and ‘hopes’ for your wallet, ‘hope’ is not the operative word.”Second, I asked Mr. Comey a series of questions about potential secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian officials, which he declined to answer in the open session.Finally, I worked to shed light on Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ involvement in the Russian investigation—asking Mr. Comey about Sessions’ recusal and his participation in the firing of the man in charge of said investigation. At this point, there are still far too many questions about whether Jeff Sessions has truly recused himself after being caught lying to Congress.At the end of the day, today’s testimony was about uncovering the facts, the information, and the truth about this investigation. This is about the office of the presidency, a hostile foreign government interfering in our elections, and the integrity of our government. We deserve answers.Today, we got some of them—but the fight continues, especially as this White House continues to lie and muddy the facts.From here on out, we need to be mindful of two things: one, this is not a TV show—it is a very serious matter and must be treated that way; and two, this process should not make us forget the fact that Senate Republicans are still trying to rip health care away from millions of Americans, undo consumer protections put in place after the 2008 recession, and so much more.Thank you again for standing with me yesterday when the GOP tried to shut me down, and for continuing to fight for truth, justice, and a government that is accountable to the public.

Last month I had the honor of moderating WRL's webinar featuring members of Iraqi Transnational Collective and Palestinian Youth Movement who had recently returned from working with refugees in Athens, Greece. Panelists shared their insights from working with remarkable groups based there, revealing how refugee communities support each other and the role diaspora communities can play to build solidarity across closed borders.

I think Najwa, a strong, bright, beautiful person who fled violence in Syria, put it best: “We want you to amplify our voices saying stop exploiting us, stop these countries’ games with us. We want our rights.” As we face a migrant and refugee crisis of unknown proportions, WRL members resist war through their commitment to following the leadership of people directly impacted by war and militarism, like Najwa and the thousands like her across the world right now.
