By now, you have probably received 100 emails about helping fire victims from the recent horrible fires in Israel. Of course, we must help people whose homes burned by donating money, clothing, food etc.. We must also help purchase new fire-fighting equipment. But there's a problem with all these things… they come TOO LATE!!! The overwhelming amount of these fires were started by Arabs walking around fields, spending lots of time and starting fires one by one. Build Up Israel researched the recent events and made contact with the IDU – The Israel Dog Unit – an award winning organization that helped save lives and PREVENT fires! We are the ONLY ONES doing this!!   The Israel Dog Unit receiving an award from Haifa police   Please read this letter from their Founder and Director, Yekutiel Ben Yaakov: During the horrific fires in Israel, IDU volunteers and highly-trained dogs: - Evacuated people from homes in Haifa - Set up ambushes to capture arson terrorists - and PREVENTED 2 major arson attacks That's correct - our amazing dogs - and their tireless handlers - set up ambushes in many areas to protect Israeli cities, towns and settlements and caught terrorists in the act of setting fires! Why did the IDU stop ONLY TWO attacks?? Simple. We don't have enough dogs!! With your financial help, the IDU will be able to purchase and train new dogs and get them to the security personnel all across the country. Remember this key point: These dogs PREVENT fires and terror attacks!!! If all we do is put out fires once they start, or help rebuild homes that have been destroyed - we will do this forever. We must PREVENT THESE ATTACKS FROM HAPPENING and the IDU DOES EXACTLY THAT!!! It is important to note that the IDU is also the #1 civilian dog unit in Israel when it comes to canine security as well as #1 in SAR (Search and Rescue) We desperately need more dogs and the IDU thanks Build Up Israel for their help in making this happen!
