Is Sessions next?

CREDIT: AP Photo/Alex Brandon
In a series of tweets this morning, President Donald Trump attacked Attorney General Jeff Sessions along with Acting FBI director Andrew McCabe, complaining that Sessions wasn’t hard enough on Hillary Clinton. This latest tweetstorm by the president comes amid questions of whether Sessions could be next on Trump’s chopping block. Trump may be angry about the way Sessions isn’t protecting him from the Russia probe — but Sessions’ history of racism wasn’t enough to turn the president against him.

The House Appropriations Committee just approved discretionary budgets for the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Departments for 2018. The result: $286 million in total cuts, leaving low income people, hospitals, and clinics that received Title X funds very vulnerable.

The Pentagon almost mistakenly gave $1.2 million in guns and bombs to a fake police department, here’s what went down.
The GOP’s health care proposal could be life or death for thousands of Americans. Two ThinkProgress reporters share their own personal stories about racking up tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills: Addy Baird on what her broken hip taught her about how Republicans approach health insurance, and Ian Millhiser on why it costs him $55,000 a year to keep himself alive.

Soundbite

 — Fox News anchor Jason Chaffetz, who said this back in March when he was still a representative for Utah, reminds us all of his position after posting a photo last night of a person on the street using a smartphone.
