Soon We’ll Be Able to Wait in Line at 4 New Trader Joe’s Locations Coming to NYC

Need weekend plans? Gotchu.
Don't forget, Coney Island's officially open as of this Sunday!
Need some stuff to do later in the month? Same.
Why don't you surprise any ladies in your life to tickets to one of these amazing Broadway shows that star kickass female characters.
Need a new place to live? Okay, we can't help you there, but Common can.
Have you ever felt personally victimized by your bare refrigerator? We feel you, fam.
Good news for everyone except Queens' residents, Trader Joe's is expanding to 4 new locations.
April Showers
April is absolutely killin’ it with all the events and dope things it’s bringing to the Big Apple.

There’s guaranteed to be something for everyone.

Whether you’re looking to take it to the streets for a parade, hit up a festival, or just have a really good excuse to eat a lot of bacon and drink a lot of beer, this is your month. READ MORE…

Bottoms Up
Attention people of planet Earth!

April 22nd is Earth Day, and once again, NYC is blocking off 30 blocks of the city to be "car free," in a symbolic gesture to cut back on motor-vehicle carbon emissions.

Supposedly there's going to be more "car-free" days announced in the near future as well! We think that's pretty dope. Imagine an NYC with little to no car traffic...think of the silence!!!

One can only dream. READ MORE…

Looking for Home?
Do you know your neighbors? In a city this size, there’s a good chance you don’t.

But wouldn’t it be nice if you could share a common living space with friends and have neighborhood events planned for you?

Common offers the ever-illusive communal lifestyle, bringing ambitious, creative professionals together with their unique approach to enabling community through hospitality.

One bedrooms, shared space and studios are available for rent in Common Baltic, located in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn.

You also get a ton of perks that are included in your rent, like access to their rooftop hangout and House Leaders that will host events for you and your neighbors. READ MORE…

And None For Queens
Ask any NYC transplant and they’ll tell you the only thing this city is missing is a Wegman’s.

But, alas, we’re forced to settle for Trader Joe’s, which is pretty dope as well... if you don’t count the whole waiting in line part.

And there’s gonna be a whole lot more of TJ’s soon.

Brand new locations are opening in the Upper West Side, SoHo, and then eventually Brooklyn and Hoboken.

As for Wegman’s... strategic trips to the suburbs it is. READ MORE…

Heartbreak
It's not a break-up, it's just, you know. A talk.

Read this hilariously crafted love letter to our refrigerator... and then let us and our friends at FoodKick help you fill yours.

By delivering fresh food and cold booze right to your door in as little as an hour, FoodKick just made standing in godawful lines at grocery stores a thing of the past, so you can focus on what’s most important: food... and eating it. READ MORE…

Sunday Funday
ICYMI: this Sunday, April 9th, is opening day at Coney Island!

And there’s tons of free specials to take advantage of on this one day only.

Beginning at 11 a.m., there will be the annual ribbon cutting ceremony on the Boardwalk, followed by free rides on the Wonder Wheel for the first 97 customers (to celebrate it’s 97th birthday!), and free egg cream samples! READ MORE…

Lady Power
When’s the last time you spoiled yourself by seeing a Broadway show?

This month, support and celebrate these amazing female performers by checking out some of the new shows coming to the stage!

Grab a friend and treat yo self.

We even laid out the cheapest way to go about finding tickets.

...The overpriced candy and drinks in the theatre, unfortunately, we can’t do anything about. READ MORE…

Fri-Yay
YASSS it’s finally Friday!

And if we’ve learned anything from Rebecca Black, yesterday was Thursday and tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards.

All jokes aside though, your weekend is now a blank canvas; a work of art only you can create.

Think of our guide as your paintbrush. Get to work you f*cking brilliant artist, you. READ MORE…

If you could only choose one at home, would it be running water or electricity?
Dear CNET members,

It hasn't been a great week with all the happenings around the world and my thoughts go out to all the people who have been affected by the chaos. My thoughts are with you.

Today’s newsletter will not be our typical tech Q&A and I apologize for this (I promise it will resume the following week). I have been dealing with some serious electrical problems at home, and to make a long story short, I have been without electricity for the past day and I’m writing to you from a local hotel while repairs are being done to my house. Of course my problems at home don't amount to the chaos some people are facing, and I'm fortunate our house is still standing and my family is all safe.

Under the circumstances, I’m going to keep this newsletter brief, and figured just I’d ask you all (as I have asked my kids), if you could only choose one would you rather have running water or electricity at home? Check out my kid’s response and when you have a moment, share your thoughts with everyone and tell us which you'd pick and why. There are no right or wrong answers. Have a great weekend and please be safe everyone!

A Little Perspective on the Missile Strikes, Please

Portrait of Tracy Loeffelholz DunnWhen I first heard about our “humanitarian” missile strike on Syria, I immediately asked longtime Middle East political expert Stephen Zunes to weigh in. While the tragedy of chemical weapons makes a compelling backdrop, is it too cynical to think this has little to do with helping civilians and more to do with political theater? Zunes explainswhy missile strikes will not help Syria’s people, especially coming from a country that wants to cut humanitarian aid and shut its borders to fleeing refugees.
