SNAŽAN UDARAC PRAVOVJERNIH BISKUPA PRVOG DANA SINODE

Možda je kardinal Peter Erdö kao glavni izvjestitelj izgledao pomalo izgubljen na prošlogodišnjoj izvanrednoj Sinodi, te se činilo kako kardinal Forte i ostali kontroliraju razvoj događaja. Ali ne ovog puta.U svom uvodnom obraćanju u ponedjeljak ujutro, koji bi trebao postaviti ton budućeg rada Sinode, kardinal Erdö je odlučno pozatvarao mnoga vrata za koja su mnogi vjerovali da ih je prošlogodišnja Sinoda ostavila otvorena – počevši s kontroverznim prijedlogom njemačkog kardinala Waltera Kasper kojim bi se dopustio razvedenim i civilno vjenčanim vjernicima primanje svete pričesti.Ova zabrana pričesti, inzistirao je Erdö, nije “proizvoljna zabrana“, nego “intrinzična u naravi braka kao stalne zajednice. Milosrđe, rekao je, ne nudi samo mogućnost oprosta, nego također “zahtijeva obraćenje“.Erdö je ustvrdio da isključivanje razvedenih i ponovno vjenčanih vjernika iz pričesti nije kazna za neuspjeh njihovog prvog braka, već proizlazi iz “objektivne istine” da život u drugom braku, kada Crkva smatra da je prvi brak još uvijek valjan, predstavalja grijeh.Nadalje, Erdö je istaknuo kako je jedini slučaj u kojem razvedeni i ponovno vjenčani vjernici mogu ponovno primiti pričest onda kada “prakticiraju uzdržljivost snagom milosti“, što znači da se odreknu bilo kakvih seksualni odnosa, i ako dopuštanje pričesti ne “izaziva skandal”.“Integriranje razvedenih i ponovno vjenčanih u život crkvene zajednice može uzeti mnoge oblike, [ali] razlikuje se od primanja Euharistije“, dodao je.Erdö se pozabavio sa svim uobičajenim argumentima iz Kasperovog tabora, kao i s tzv. “zakonom postupnosti“, koji drži da ljudi u nesavršenim životnim situacijama mogu krenuti na put moralnog rasta te ih treba poticati, a ne da ostaju isključeni.„Između istinitog i lažnog, između dobra i zla nema postupnosti. Čak i ako se u određenim formama zajedničkog života mogu naći neki pozitivni vidici, to ne znači da se te forme mogu predstavljati kao nešto dobro“- rekao je.Na jednako kontroverzno pitanje hoće li Crkva gledati pozitivnije na homoseksualnost i istospolne veze, Erdö se također nije ustručavao govoriti istinu.“Nema osnova za uspoređivanje ili stvaranje analogije, čak ni iz daleka, između homoseksualnih zajednica i Božjeg plana za brak i obitelj“, rekao je citirajući dokument Kongregacije za nauk vjere iz 2003-e.Erdö je također opomenuo da međunarodne organizacije ne smiju uvjetovati financijsku pomoć siromašnim zemljama uvođenjem zakona koji ustanovljuju „brak“ između osobâ istoga spola, ali je isto tako naveo službeni nauk Crkve po kojem treba izbjegavati svaku “nepravednu diskriminaciju” protiv homoseksualaca i lezbijki. Na drugom planu, Erdö je ušao u žestoku obranu enciklike Humanae Vitae pape Pavla VI. iz 1968.-e godine koja potvrđuje crkveno protivljenje kontroli rađanja. “Izgleda da ova istina danas ima posebnu važnost, kada postoji toliko tehničkih mogućnosti za odvajanje rađanje od bračne ljubavi.”Govor je također obuhvatio jasnu osudu pobačaja, inzistirajući na “nepovredivom karakteru ljudskog života“, te eutanazije, inzistirajući na “pravu ne prirodnu smrt“.Ako kardinal Erdö nastavi ovim smjerom tijekom cijele Sinode, mogao bi imati značajan utjecaj. A sa samo 63 godina, predodređen je da bude utjecajan kardinal u Crkvi još dugo vrijeme.

We’re used to hearing about sexism in STEM fields, but a new study in the Journal of American Medical Association shows just how tough it is for young female scientists. For their first project out of college, young male scientists receive amedian of $889,000 of funding from their research institution, while young female scientists receive a median of—brace yourself, it’s worse than you can even imagine—$350,000. I’ll save you some calculations and just tell you that the men are getting *two and a half times* more financial support from their respective institutions. You know how tough it is to get budding research off the ground and start a competitive biomedical lab or cure cancer with, on average, $539,000 less than your already-favored male peers? Some study participants read short passage about mindfulness before tackling the dirty dishes, encouraging them to focus completely on the task at hand—the smell of the soap, the temperature of the water, the smooth edges of the dishes. The people who read the passage reported a 25 percent increase in feelings of inspiration and a 27 percent decrease in nervousness, while those who simply washed the dishes received no benefits. Moral of this story? Mindfulness and intentionality can turn any task into a stress reliever… so tell your roommates to scrape their gunk off your pan themselves.
