You can wander amongst the old stone houses with the traditional red roofs and visit the many churches dotted around the small village. The main church with three naves called Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian was built originally in the 15th century. Marvel at the unusual cylindrical chimneys on top of a number of houses in Lastovo village. The wealthier your family, the taller your chimney! For fantastic panoramic views over the whole of Lastovo village and out to sea, climb up to the top of the Fort (known as Kascel) which now houses a number of important Meteorological instruments. There are number of well marked cycling and walking paths across the island through the forests and vineyards, where you will appreciate the natural beauty of the island. One is in Pasadur and one is Zaklopatica. In Lastovo and Ubli you will find a supermarket. In Pasadur there is a small shop inside Hotel Solitudo. There are a few bars/restaurants in Lastovo and in the bays, including: This family run restaurant provides simple local meals, using home-grown ingredients at a very good value. Try their freshly caught fish, grilled squid or lamb peka. Their home made wine:- Rukatac (white wine) and Plavac (red wine) is very delicious.
