We're so close, yet so far from the weekend– have you got your plansready?
#TIL the #Hashtag turned 10 years old yesterday. Pour one out for the pound key.
NYC might finally be acknowledging that nightlife is basically our biggest industry ($10 billion ain't a joke), and is set to establish an Office of Nightlife.
The somewhat Harry Potter-themed pasta restaurant recently opened in Brooklyn is now expanding to Manhattan!
Our ole' buddy Chris Columbus' monument is under review as a symbol of hate, and the reactions are... let's just say "mixed."
There's a mermaid frappuccino at Starbucks... but ONLY IN MEXICO?! BRB, drowning our sorrows in these rosé pouches.
Even the least picky of eaters has the food they cannot stand, and apparently, that varies by state.

If you’ve been to Central Park in the past 200 years, you’ve probably noticed the Christopher Columbus statue on the southwest corner of the park.
You know, in ~Columbus~ Circle.
Several NYC politicians are debating the removal of the statue, including City Council Melissa Mark-Viverito, who named him a “controversial figure” responsible for the disenfranchisement of indigenous populations.
Well, she ain't wrong.
Others are in protest (of the protest) and deem the piece a pivotal emblem of Italian-American culture that should stay.
Will Chris remain? That’s up to Mayor de Blasio to decide. Stay tuned.

You know all about The Night King from Game of Thrones, but what about a real-life Night Mayor of NYC?
That’s right, today, a new bill is set to pass that would allow Mayor de Blasio to appoint a Director of Nightlife to monitor New York’s bustling night scene.
Cool, right? We know. What’s more?
If elected, this 'Night Mayor' will work to combat rising rent prices, poor community planning, and even propose to eliminate the hated Cabaret Law.
Now that’s a Night King/Man/Mayor we can totally stand behind.

We know your tummy still aches from the Unicorn Frap in April, but the imaginative folks at Starbucks are up to it again.
Starbucks Mexico uncovered another mythical creature from the depths of their minds today: The Elusive Mermaid.
Melon-based and topped with blue whipped cream and pink sparkles, this curious beverage is only available in Mexico’s 600 locations.
Are we bummed? Of course. We really needed that perfect Insta moment.

We all know Harry Potter is life.
But where does organic pasta fit into the wizarding world?
All aboard the Pasta Wiz Express, as they open a second and slightly confusing new location in Greenwich Village.
They haven’t gone full-out Potter up in there (because copyrights are a thing), but we’ll at least raise a butterbeer to your attempts to serve us Fettucine in under five minutes.
Now that’s what we call magic.

In case you weren’t feeling old enough lately, the hashtag just turned 10 years old yesterday.
It was first used by Twitter user and web developer Chris Messina, and has since been used in a variety of ways by activists, celebrities, and everyday shlumps like us nearly 125 million times per day.
Woahhhh #blessed.
The rise of the hashtag has evolved into a spread of culture across continents, often bringing together voices and allowing many groups to be heard in an ever-growing technological age (#BlackLivesMatter, for example).
Happy Birthday #Hashtag10!

Hold onto your butts, rosé in a pouch is here and we honestly can’t even believe we’ve survived this long without it.
Our sense of self is completely revitalized now with these cutesy wine pouches courtesy of Electric Rose Wine Co.
Take them to the beach, a concert, shoot, bring them to your kid’s soccer game, we can’t judge.

“OMG, I hate that,” you sneer at a tuna salad or Keurig K-Cup.
Turns out you might not be alone.
This month, we’ve turned up some oddly specific geographical hatred for all things food via Hater, a dating app that matches people based on mutual hatred.
Colorado hates Flaming Hot Cheetos, Missouri despises the last bite of a hot dog, California is anti-Chick-Fil-A.
And New York? Ranch on pizza. We didn't know that was so polarizing, TBH.
