Happy Friday, y'all? We've got your weekend plans right here.
And heads up, tonight and every weekend through the end of the year, MoMA is staying up late with us! Smorgasburg is finally arriving in Manhattan this weekend, and we could not be more ready. Today is also National Thrift Shop day, so if you need some new fall threads, you're in luck. Don't let the MTA's Summer of Hell ruin another second of your summer– you've got Via (and our code SPOILED2017 for a free ride)! We're just a couple days from the solar eclipse, and make sure you stay safe! Meaning, don't look directly into the sun without eclipse glasses, come on, guys. ️ Everyone who's ever been job hunting knows it's easier said than done, but we're hooking someone up with a serious in at TechCrunch Disrupt SF. ...And for our whisky lovers out there, we might have just found you the perfect job.
For foodies of NYC, Smorgasburg is legendary. Legendary, in that those of us who aren't particularly inclined to borough hop have only experienced their wares through their seriously mouthwatering Instagram. But no more! This weekend, Smorgasburg is finally setting up shop in Manhattan, at 76 Varick Street in West SoHo. They'll be open August 19th and 20th, and pssst: If you RSVP, you'll get a free gift! Need a last minute date idea? MoMA's got you covered tonight There's basically nothing classier than a night at the museum, but that isn't too easy for us New Yorkers with late work hours. Now, you've got plenty of time to take in all the amazing art that MoMA has to offer! READ MORE…
Guess what? Today's National Thrift Store Day! Founded by Reuse NYC, a group of nonprofits, they're hosting a ton of store-wide sales across the city. Just in time to refresh your fall wardrobe. Score! READ MORE…
If you think that the "Summer of Hell" is a hyperbole, then you're def not a real New Yorker. Between hours of delays, and literal fires, the subway hasn't exactly been the most reliable form of transportation. Lucky for you, the ride-sharing app Via, is here to save you. Unlike some other apps that we're not gonna name, bc we're not petty like that, Via cares about you, its drivers, AND the environment. Download the Via app right here. Oh, and don't forget: your first ride's free* with the code SPOILED2017. READ MORE…
There’s nothing worse than working a job that you f*cking hate. Who doesn’t wish that they could just straight up quit their office digs every once in a while? Well, if you land this internship with Grant's Whisky, not only can you GTFO of your dreary 9-5, but you'll get to spend your days drinking too! Drinking whisky and making friends is basically what we like to do on weekends, so um... we're def applying. READ MORE…
As you probably know, there's gonna be a solar eclipse visible from NYC in a couple days, as if things aren't already whack enough in the world. Solar eclipses are all fun and games, until someone looks directly into the sun, and is blinded. Don't do that. Lucky for you amateur astronomers, there's a dozen places you can snag special, sparkly (not-really) eclipse glasses. Stay safe! READ MORE…
Breaking into the tech world right out college was a little more simple in the past. Sadly, we did not grow up in our parents’ lifetimes. But we've teamed up with General Assembly, theSkimm, girlboss, Fundera and Brit+Co to make your big break happen. We’re sending a lucky winner all the way to San Fran with a FREE admission ticket to the TechCrunch Disrupt SF conference, a one-on-one meeting with the OG #Girlboss herself, Sophia Amoruso, and tons of other cool stuff. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to break into the industry you want! READ MORE…
Who else needs this weekend more than they need oxygen, rn? You might be exhausted, but here in NYC, there's no excuse to sit around the whole weekend, there's too much cool sh*t to do! You can sleep when you're dead, guys. This weekend there's parties and festivals galore, as well as a couple pretty dope self-care and meditation events, for those of you who really need the down time. Trust us, we're not judging. Bannon fodder |

Pour one out for the country’s most powerful white supremacist. Steve Bannon, a senior adviser to Donald Trump and former chairman of Breitbart, was unceremoniously fired on Friday. But don’t expect the White House’s troubles to suddenly be behind them.

In the week since white supremacists murdered a young woman in Charlottesville, VA, the president has equated anti-hate protesters with neo-Nazis, gathered harsh criticism from members of his own party like Mitt Romney, waited for days to reach out to the family of Heather Heyer (who aren’t interested in speaking to him anyway, thank you very much), and now he’s fiercely defending confederate statues.
