Take the 1st Inaugural Firefox Census
Earlier this year, NPR ran a story about how Firefox users are most likely to be non-conformists. We’ve been wondering ever since: What else are Firefox users likely to be? Good cooks? Adventurous travelers? Hufflepuffs? It’s time to find out.

Want to know what your browser says about you? Take this survey (for science!) and we’ll be releasing the results publicly for all to see.

Speaking Out

Emma Watson is at it again. The UN Women Goodwill ambassador tackled the ever problematic and current issue of sexual violence on college campuses in the U.S. in a speech she made today at the United Nations. From her speech: “And so importantly right now, the experience must make it clear that the safety of women, minorities and anyone who may be vulnerable is a right and not a privilege. A right that will be respected by a community that believes and supports survivors and that recognizes that when one person’s safety is violated, everyone feels their own safety is violated. A university should be a place of refuge that takes action against all form of violence.” Read more about her important speech here.

Spin City

Good news for any SoulCycle enthusiasts. You soon may be able to spin all day at work. Well not quite spin (as people may start looking at you if you tap it back), but pretty close. NextDesk has just launched the Velo which is essentially a seat that allows you to bike while you work the day away. With just the touch of a button you can simply raise or lower your powered standing desk to a sitting, cycling, or standing height, and switch to a chair as needed. That long call with your boss will be so much bearable now that you can spin all the boredom away. “Our bodies thrive on changing positions,” Dan Lee, director at NextDesk, told Fast Company. “Our pilot studies indicate that the average user will spend 45 minutes to an hour per day on the bike, about two hours standing, and the remainder sitting,” says Lee. As we all know, sitting all day is slowly killing us so as much movement throughout the day is super important. Basically biking desks are the new treadmill desks and what the heck is a standing desk? Bike helmet optional.

Spice Up Your Life

So we thought we had reached full Pumpkin Spice saturation with the Pumpkin Spice hair craze, but alas we were wrong. Now you can grab a slice of Pumpkin Spice Pizza to make all your fall dreams come true. No more PSL, now it is all about the PSP. Shared on Instagram by Anthony Rotio, the PSP is made with pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, honey, fior di latte, ricotta, and sage. Sounds totally gross, right? Umm only if you don’t have taste buds or a heart full of love! Forget pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving! Just whip out one of these things and your mom will totally stop harassing you about being single.

If you think politics gets people worked up, try confronting cat owners about their feline companions.

Peter Marra, a conservation biologist and director of the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center in Washington, D.C., has drawn scorn, ridicule, and even threats for his long-standing crusade against free-roaming cats and their backyard killing sprees.

He believes that all cats should be kept indoors, or, if necessary, euthanized for the sake of birds and other wildlife.

He's now bracing for even more controversy with the publication of his new book, Cat Wars: The Devastating Consequences of a Cuddly Killer (Princeton University Press, September 2016), cowritten by Chris Santella.

We spoke with him from his home in Maryland.
