Dear friends,
This week, House Republicans are preparing to push through a plan that would all but guarantee deep cuts to our environmental protections.
It’s a budget bill that would hand giant tax cuts to Big Oil and dangerously lower spending for our environment.
This is going to be a disaster for clean air, clean water and the climate. The vote is scheduled for this week -- so we need your help to stop this plan!
The GOP plan calls for a staggering 44 percent cut to overall social and environmental spending by 2027.
These cuts would lock the government into starving critical agencies like the EPA of resources they need to enforce our bedrock environmental laws. Clean water, renewable energy, and polluter accountability would be at risk.
What’s more, the plan would allow Congress to fast-track plans to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge -- one of our last truly wild places.
This budget is great for Big Oil and terrible for the environment.
The good news is that this proposal is so extreme, House Republican leadership may not have the votes to pass it. If you speak up now, you can help ensure it never gets a vote.
Big Polluters and their cronies in the House think they can use the budget to slash the EPA. We need to raise the volume NOW and make sure we stop this plan in its tracks!
