[JESTE LI ZNALI] Hallstatt je jedno od najstarijih ljudskih naselja u Europi, zahvaljujući nalazištu soli, koja se vadila još oko 5500 g. pr. Krista, a što je dokazano kamenom sjekirom u obliku cipele koja se koristila za kopanje. Posebnost Hallstatta je i kosturnica. Naime, tradicija u Austriji je bila da se grobovi iznajmljuju, a jednom kad bi istekao rok najma, kosti bi se preselile u Karner ili kuću kostiju. Ukoliko u obzir uzmemo veličinu Hallstatta, prostora za pokapanje nije bilo te su se kosti starije od 10 godina smještale u kosturnicu, u kojoj se danas nalazi oko 1600 lubanja!
